| The principle
motivation of BARA is to facilitate all
areas of development and to excel in all
our practices and endeavours. Our campaign
is long term and far reaching, focusing
not only on rugby development at all levels,
but also working alongside organisations
and agencies, helping them to appreciate
and understand our perspective.
We have brought together a strong and experienced
management team with a clear cut understanding
of what BARA aims to achieve and the conviction
and dedication to see their plans come to
fruition. Members of the management team
draw from a wealth of experience in rugby
both in a professional and non- professional
capacity.
The Community Development committee works
hand in hand with all relevant committees
within BARA, such as the Marketing, Commercial
and Performance committees to ensure an
effective and competent delivery of the
BARA vision.
Development
BARA will be working with the Home Nations
(England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales) in
setting up a rugby framework and development
programmes which will encourage more members
of the South Asian community into playing
and supporting rugby from grassroots to
excellence.
BARA will also be linking into and enhancing
existing local, regional and national sports
and governmental strategies in order to
address the issues that exist in the Asian
Communities. These issues will initially
be addressed at the grassroots level.
BARA will be setting up development progammes
for:
- Juniors
- (grassroots level)
- Seniors
(players that play for clubs all over
the country)
International
BARA is also working with the Indian and
Pakistani Rugby Unions.
During the BARA’s rugby team’s
visit to Mumbai to play in the 72nd All
India & South Asian Championships, they
also visited a school, took part in coaching
sessions for school teachers and children
as well as delivering a training session
on the beach to local children. |
