| One of
BARA's main aims is to develop South Asian
role models who are playing rugby at the
highest levels. In order to facilitate this
we will be making sure promising youngsters
fulfil their potential. This will be achieved
by:
- Encouraging those with the ability
and desire to progress from participation
through performance to higher levels of
excellence.
- Ensuring effective talent identification
processes are used to identify potential
players.
- Making sure that if a youngster displays
potential then he/she is encouraged to
continue developing their skills.
Coaches / Match Officials / Volunteers
/ Development Officers
BARA members will be encouraged
to take part in specially designed coach
education courses. There will be a wide
variety of courses ranging from general
coaching courses, match officiating, equity
in your coaching, children protection &
club development etc. These courses will
increase their skills & knowledge of
the game and encourage others to emulate
them. Identified members will be encouraged
& mentored to further enhance their
skills to become development officers who
will then be required to manage a particular
region.
BARA Rugby Team
All players of South Asian origin
would be encouraged to attend trial matches.
These will help BARA identify & select
teams who will play exhibition matches against
high profile opposition.
International
Trials and exhibition matches will
also enable BARA to nominate players of
high caliber, who don't make the English,
Irish, Scottish and Welsh international
teams, to the Indian and Pakistani Rugby
Teams.
