| BARA Dish Out Law and Order to the Maharashtra State Police The British Asian Rugby Association soldiered on strongly to streamroll past Maharashtra State Police (MS Police) 68-5 and march into the semifinals of the 72nd Orange all-India and South Asia Rugby Tournament at the Priyadarshini Park. BARA toyed with MS Police throughout the match. The cops dived, infringed, clinged to the BARA players, but nothing could help them against the shear force of the British Asian Rugby Association. BARA, after enjoying a commanding 34-0 halftime lead, continued the pounding in the second half too, emerging comfortable winners. MS Police were expected to put up a good fight but were completely overawed by the superior physical attributes of the BARA players. They simply bludgeoned their way past through the opposing ranks and stopped the quick MS Police backs from getting good ball. It was right-winger, Rashid Mehmood, man of the tournament, who set the pace with three tries in the first half and followed it up with two more after the break. Time after time he shrugged off tackles like flies and was a handful for the MS Police throughout the game. Other BARA tries were scored by: Leon Parrott (2 tries), Junaid Malik (1 try and 3 conversions), Ben Kerr (1 try), Jag Johal (1 try), Jag Singh (1 try) and Manny Rehaz (1 try). MS Police managed a consolation try in the last ten minutes. By this time BARA had made all of their substitutions and also had lost two players due to injuries and burn out. BARA have Chennai Cheetahs, the favorites, in the final, who should pack enough big bodies in their ranks to withstand the power play of the British Asian Rugby Association.
