British Asian rugby stars have linked up once again with one of Pakistan’s premier rugby clubs who were unlucky not to make the final this year!
Players from BARA (British Asian Rugby Association), led by dual code international Ikram Butt, joined forces with the Islamabad Jinns RFC to take part in the prestigious 2008 IRB Dubai Sevens event.
Ikram explained: “The competition gets stronger each year and the team did very well to reach the quarter final stages. All the players performed well, Junaid Malik in particular was outstanding throughout the tournament displaying lots of skill, vision and pace”.
“The Islamabad Jinns are a big name in rugby in South Asia and are a major driving force in BARA’s efforts to establish both codes of the sport into the region''.
“The teamwork and attitude we displayed throughout the tournament augers well for the development of both thirteen and fifteen-a-side codes. We look forward to continue building on our relationship with the Islamabad Jinns".
