Bollywood superstar Rahul Bose will be taking time out from his busy filming schedule to deliver an inspirational talk to West Yorkshire schoolchildren and business leaders in an event at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds on Monday 8th June from 10.30am.
The presentation, which will take place in the Coaching Suite Room 201, is the first in a series of talks organised by rugby league star Ikram Butt, recently appointed as manager of the Leeds Rugby Foundation’s Connecting Communities initiative in association with Leeds Metropolitan University.
Butt, a former England RL international and Pakistan rugby union international, commented: “Rahul is an outstanding representative for the values and ideals that the Connecting Communities programme stands for and it will provide plenty of food for thought for those in attendance.
“Rahul is a former Indian rugby international and a progressive social activist who hails from Mumbai and was the first first Indian to become a UN ambassador against global poverty. His presentation will focus on the fact that anyone can achieve their dreams with positive thinking and is entitled ‘Grassy Knoll’,” added Ikram who also heads up the British Asian Rugby Association (BARA).
Leeds Rugby Foundation is the registered charity of Leeds Rugby. Established in 2006 to provide sports, health and education opportunities to the children of Leeds and Yorkshire, the Foundation currently employs a number of full-time Rugby Development Officers working in over 250 schools and 80 clubs every year.
